One Million Pillowcase Challenge | |
Bear
Patch Quilting Co. joins nationwide One Million Pillowcase Challenge,
benefiting local charities.
American Patchwork & Quilting magazine is challenging quilter’s, crafters and sewers across the country to Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference. Local quilting enthusiasts will join the cause to help reach the goal of making and donating one million pillowcases to benefit local charities. Every pillowcase can make a difference in our communities. A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for battered woman, or beauty for a nursing home resident. Bear Patch Quilting Co. will be hosting a pillowcase event on Sunday, February 7th from 12 noon—4 pm. (An alternate date of February 21st has been chosen if the Vikings play in the Super Bowl Game). We will provide fabric and sergers. You are welcome to bring your own sergers and any fabric you would like to donate to this cause. Please call and reserve a spot or drop in if you have some time to spare. Throughout 2010, quilters, crafters and sewers across the nation will make pillowcases at their local quilt shops. The shops will then collect the pillowcases and donate them to local charities of their choice and update the pillowcase counter at allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases. The counter will track nationwide progress toward the goal of one million pillowcases. Bear Patch Quilting Co. sees the One Million Pillowcase Challenge as a way to give back to the community. To find out how you can make a difference, call us at 651-429-1039 for information. We will gladly accept any new pillowcases you have sewn. Need directions? Stop in for a free pattern or check out the various pillowcase patterns at allpeoplequilt. com/millionpillowcases. We hope you can help us with this important challenge!
